Saturday July 9th, I participated in Western New York Book Arts Center’s Buffalo Bookfest where a block I had been working on for a very intense week (about 80 hours of drawing and carving) was printed using a steamroller. It was awesome! I also had a booth set up and there were free mini workshops to learn how to marble paper, printmaking, paper marbling and more.
My two foot by three foot print features Buffalo’s Central Terminal as well as the Erie Canal, Saint Stanislaus Catholic Church, the Richardson Olmsted Complex (former insane asylum built in 1870), the Buffalo lighthouse, the peace bridge and more.
Many thanks to WNYBAC for their support and the University of Buffalo’s printmaking department for letting me use their facility to proof the block.
