Today was the day of the Miniature Book Binding class at Starpointe Studio – it was a great way to spend the day! Our group of four made two miniature books which we glued and sewed together – all by hand and with beautiful, colorful papers and thread. A gorgeous fall day with lots of vibrant foliage and temps in the upper 70s drew the lady bugs inside and the humans outside. Three attendees were from a local Shelby County, KY book club and they were anxious to show off their creations to their colleagues – I hope their books make special holiday gifts, but really, the experience of spending time being creative with friends is a reward in and of itself.
Then, after the class, we found some cows had wandered into our backyard – enjoying our chemical-free forage! I wonder who these lost cows belong to?! Mooo!
And then our annual ritual of carving pumpkins. My husband and I don’t do a lot of things together – we have different interests, but most years, right before Halloween we make time to sit down, design and carve pumpkins together. It’s a beautiful thing. Here are this year’s pumpkins:
And here is a collage sampling of yesteryear’s pumpkins – Happy Halloween everybody!
